Learners at the Intermediate 1 level (B1) are expected to comprehend the main points about familiar topics, as well as effectively make themselves understood when discussing their intentions and feelings, and the reasons behind them. Based on the philosophy of "Japanese for mutual understanding," each topic features people from various cultural backgrounds interacting in Japanese.
