Paid Sick Leave as a Tool for COVID-19 Control - ADB publication 2020 - 8

The publication examines the case for a paid sick leave program as part of measures to suppress the transmission of COVID-19. It provides estimates of how much such a program would cost in payouts to workers, using the case of the Philippines. It finds that a combination of paid sick leave and expanded contact testing, tracing and isolation could control COVID-19 in the Philippines. A sick leave program would be affordable and much more cost-effective than other COVID-19 control measures.
